Hello all,
I haven't been here for a while but I've returned to tell you about a memory of a place I've had all of my life, and I recently went to that place.
That's it in a nutshell really.
When I was 3 we moved house and one of my earliest memories of life in the new house is asking my parents if a particular building existed. I knew where it should be and what it looked like but it definitely wasn't visible from my new home. My parents said that it didn't exist but I continued to be convinced and I've dreamed about the place, not often, but now and again.
Anyway...a few weeks ago I set off on a little expedition and I went to the location and I stood outside the modern building which now stands on the site of the old one and I thus completed an ambition I've long held. Googling confirmed that the new building does indeed stand on the site of the old one that I had visualised and dreamed about and was convinced once existed on that site.
So I wonder what this could mean? A memory of a past life perhaps? Or did I access some sort of shared consciousness? An interesting little puzzle. |

I heard a story on the radio awhile back about a girl who had the same experiences. She was in the house walking around, looking out of windows etc. Then on day she drove by this house. She go all excited and decided to knock on the door, The people answered and were frightened. The girl told them that she somehow knew of this place. The man of the house then said "you should, you've been haunting it"
Turns out the family could see her like a ghost while she walked about the house.
Could this have been on of those out of body experiences? Who knows.. To bad the building is no longer there. You could have knocked on the door and asked if they ever seen you before... |

I read a book years ago called "The children that time forgot" and it's all about children who appear to recount past lives so I have heard stories like that before.
The building I seemed to know about was very old and ceased to exist long before I was born. The building that exists now has been built as a romanticised version of the original.
I can't say that I believe that I've lived before and retained a memory of that past life, I suppose it's possible, but I suppose it's also possible that I accessed some sort of pool of knowledge or experience or something.
I suppose I'll never know but it's good to tell someone things that you wouldn't tell your friends and family and good to hear of other peoples similar experiences. |
