I'm fairly certain the bar in question is called BRANNIGANS. The Most Haunted Team have done a program about it.

Fran, have you visited BRANNIGANS?
If so, can you tell us what kind of activity goes on there?
Very Happy

I remember the most haunted program about brannigans in manchester. If i remember correctly, the bar staff / customers would experiance glasses being thrown across the room pumps being turned off in the celler, very high amounts of poltergeist activity and i think one of the bar staff also have been pushed / thrown down the stairs too.

Apparently above the bar was a old church where a very active spirit resides and i remember something about a old organ.

hey guys
Yeah the bar is called Brannigans. iv worked there for the last year and a bit and we used to use the old church upstairs as storage room for the spare chairs and stuff. Since I've been there I havent seen anything that I would class as paranormal. There have been 2 times when weird things have happened and im not a sceptic but at the same time i dont want to jump to conclusions either. Both happened during a day shift when it was quiet and no one was in. A glass that was stacked next to the main til exploded for no reason. It hadnt just been pulled out of the dishwasher and stacked there next to cold glasses so I dont really understand why it would just explode. Noone was near it or behind the bar even, it was just me there.
The next thing happened a couple of weeks ago, I was taking the glasses off the bar to replace them with plastics for that nite because it was a student nite and at the end taps around the side of the bar i swore i heard someone laugh at me. Again, noone was there. I got a lil scared cuz it wasnt a friendly laugh either it was more like the evil little Chucky doll laugh =P I told Jim, and he said his wife who is one of the supervisors there told him someone was whistling at her downstairs a few days before as well.
Co-workers have said they have heard footsteps and doors closing all the time. The front doors open and close all the time too making us think we have more customers wen we dont lol.
If anything were to happen though, which is perhaps why Im not sure where I stand with this, I think it should be happening upstairs. For my birthday last year I worked the day shift, met a few friends at work and we went upstairs for an hour or so before heading out, just to 'explore'. We got heaps of photos but never experienced anything up there. The photos were littered with what could be orbs but are probably more likely to be dust particles. The organ is HUGE and I can only imagine how amazing it would have been. I wish it could be restored and used again, just to hear it Very Happy .
Anyway guys, I'll be working here still for the next 3 weeks before I head off back home to Australia, hopefully I can post something back here to give a lil more proof!!
