What research can you link to that validates that the number 13 is unlucky?
|
that is stupid DB - i doubt there was ever any scientific research done to prove 13 is unlucky, but the amount of bad luck associated with it - maybe they are all just coincidences, but all these unlucky coincidences associated with 13 is the reason it is considered unlucky by many |

well when jim lovell told his wife he was rescheduled for apollo 13 she said 'thats great, but why did it have to be 13, unlucky 13' he replied 'it comes after 12 hun' - then coincidentally the apollo 13 went wrong - 'houston we have a problem' |

9 out of 10 people will associate number 13 to be unlucky, even bingo callers call it "unlucky for some 13"
wether it be true or coincidence its just the way people see it |

Coincidence Cactus pure coincidence. People always remember the times when ill fortune was met on the 13th or in association with the 13th. They don't remember all the other 13ths that passed without incident.

Do you not think that when logic is presented in a form that you can put it in the context of your experiences - you get an insight in to how so many others come to illogical beliefs?.

I know that amongst numerous other reasons for people believing it to be unlucky the ancient Greeks felt that 12 was the perfect number therefore 13 was viewed as imperfect and unlucky so was to be avoided at all costs.
I am over the top superstitious but for some reason the number 13 has never been an issue for me ~ amazingly. On the other hand, put a hat on a bed and I would probably faint lol. |

Yup I know! Embarrassingly there are far too many superstitions that I have to list lol. When I was little I remember putting my brother's baseball cap on his bed and my mum went ballistic lol (wonder why I am so superstitious hehe) I was brought up to believe that it is one of the worst/unluckiest things that you can possibly do! |
