                                | Now you've had your gift from the Tax man you can get yourself a good tent and sleeping bag you jammy bugger   A 14mp would be fine for landscapes, even if it's a compact, 14mp is a good sized sensor.
 I've got a fairly basic Nikon D40x SLR with a 10.2 mp sensor.
 This is an example of my Star trail photography:

 That star trail photography is interesting - I had never heard of it before you mentioned it.
 
 I may be borrowing that camera then to try and snap a few scenic photos myself

 lol there is a place I walk a lot called Kilbroney Park in Rostrevor and you walk up to this spot called the Cloughmore Stone and there is a great panaramic view of Carlingford Lough from there - it was from this spot that TS Lewis got the idea of the land of Narnia for his book The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe, and the other day I was there and I decided I would like to capture these views
