Been a while since I came on this forum.
This house is displayed on the British Listed Buildings website if you type in the village. He lived there from around September 1994 to July 2000. I was only told this when he came up the other week. Shortly after moving in a neighbor told him that in 1986 a young lady with mental health problems lived there. One day when her partner left her she went upstairs and hung herself on the railing where the window was in the landing. He came home to find her dead. The house was left until my Uncle bought it. While living there he told me that he could hear stuff such as banging at night time while in bed but never actually saw anything. This freaked me out as I used to sit in that window as a kid whenever I got bored and watch traffic and people go past. I never really felt anything strange but I was 8 when I used to do it. However my Mum told me that she felt an atmosphere in that house and in 2010 my grandma told me about an experience she had when she was left in there one night with the dog. Smoke began to come out of the fire and the wind had not got up outside. The dog got spooked out and was growling. My granddad did not believe her story.
The dog was a sheepdog that he got although my grandparents had it most of the time.

As Flossy said that is very sad story.
It would be interesting if you could find out if the new owners
have experienced the same things as your family.
Do you have any idea how old the home is?
