I was recently thinking of doing the Colchester ghost walk but want more than just a giude pointing out buildings ive been seeing all my life and saying thats haunted.
I used to work at a large hotel in the town center 16th centery and even older foundations and that was haunted. The red lion hotel and I have a few storys but I want to visit a more activly haunted place and experiance stuff like on most haunted. |

Castle Menzies is a place where things may get realy weird and we don't do guided tours lol.
We get stuck in with loads of gear and we know how to use it too.
Still tickets available for this Saturday the 12th November, its in Scotland, plus you'd get to sleep in the castle afterwards till 10.30 next morning.
Let me know pal. |

Sure thing but I don't want Sweeny commenting that it's all bull.
Heres what I wrote so far...
http://www.worldofghosts.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=4011
and some more...
Other that banging and knocking that was a common occourence there was a few other events that made me creep out. the ghost of alice is the common one spotted and many staff see her, ive not personally, only heared her but she tried to freak me out when I was sitting in her area.
I was actually up to date with my work and avoiding manager staff so to not get another job. I walked to a dissused room. I used to get changed in this area. I found a chair poped it in the middle of the room and sat down, I was texting my girlfreind at the time when suddenly I felt the shirt I was wearing get grabed and my top button was undone.
I paniced and ran out of the room that was quite dark.
The place is big and alot of areas were unused the ghost haunts the kitchen area mainly.
She is supposedly quite a joker but I also suspect she is a sex maniac or a compulsive furniture mover.
Either way bangs and stomping and knocking are her speciality. |

Now that I dont work there I kind of miss my old exploration days.
I have an urge to go back inside. I am taking my mum there for a meal for xmas and I might take a little wander during courses, if i get caught I will say either I was looking for old freinds or I got lost.
There is something there for sure and another thing that makes that place so weird is the fact that it right above the town and there is a bridge across the center. From below you would never look up so people just flow past and dont notice you. Must be kind of like being a ghost.
The cellar is the oldest part and I had a look a few times, I think it dates as far back as 12th century.
Also i have just found out that another loacl town center pub is haunted, the Fox and Fiddler. Apparently the celler there leads to some tunnels that actually go under the town and these tunnels are not sewers. i'd pay real money to see whats down there and every time i'm in town now I get the urge to see under. |

In a sense you will be looking for an old friend
Many old hotels have histories of being haunted - so many people have passed through them over the decades that the chances of some of their spirits remaining there for a period are high. |
