I will post this again for the newbies.. Best way to tell if anyone is on is to go to the bottom right corner of the main index page.. It tells you if any members are on. If they are there "may" be a chance that they are in the chat room. What I do is I open a separate browser window just for the chat room when I am here.
I usually post something in the message window just to keep me "active". It can be a single letter, just so the system keeps me there. That way if anyone is on or comes on, they will know I am monitoring the chat room.
If you do this, keep checking there every so often to see if someone is there trying to reach you...
ok... I earned my "imaginary" moderator paycheck for the month lol |

This happened years ago.
A friends daughter was looking at photos of us all, years ago, when we were children. The photos were black and white.
The daughter asked quite honestly....Mum when did the world go to colour? |

Getto blasters in our area are those massive sized protable radios that most carry on your shoulders... |

thats them, you only had cassette tape or the radio, and if you wanted the head phones they used to be big blocker things that covered each side of your head (god i feel old now) |
